Lake Bluff Resident to be Installed as Officer in Women's Bar Association of Illinois — Lake Bluff news, photos and events — TribLocal.com

Michelle M. Kohut, an associate at the Chicago personal injury law firm of Corboy & Demetrio, will be installed as the Second Vice-President of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois at its 97th Annual Installation Dinner on June 9, 2011.

Kohut is a Lake Bluff resident and trial lawyer who has been honored with the designation of “Illinois Super Lawyer, Rising Star,” for the last four years. She was also named one of "40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch" by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company in 2007 in recognition of her success.

“I look forward to my new role as Second Vice President of the WBAI and continuing the work of increasing our membership as chair of the membership committee,” Kohut said.

Kohut and the other newly installed officers will be sworn in at the event, which is one of the largest annual celebrations within the Chicago legal community, with over 700 judges, attorneys, corporate supporters, and prominent leaders attending each year.

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan will be presented with the Myra Bradwell Award, an award bestowed upon women who have exhibited excellence in the profession and practice of law. Also, U.S. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky will be given the Women with Vision Award.

The mission of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois includes promoting, protecting and fostering the interests and welfare of women lawyers. The WBAI Installation Dinner will be held at 5p.m. on June 9, 2011 at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan Avenue.
