On September 25 and 26, 2010, Philadelphia lawyers Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock & Dodig LLP participated in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Bike MS: 2010 City to Shore Ride fundraiser. Feldman Shepherd attorney Evan Y. Liu, M.D., led the charge in organizing a 10-person cycling team which raised more than $3,000 for the nonprofit.
“Feldman Shepherd takes pride in our dedication to legal services and philanthropy,” said Dr. Liu. “We enjoy participating in community events and we seek opportunities to take an active stance in supporting nonprofit organizations like the MS Society and its fight against multiple sclerosis.”
This year marked the 30th Anniversary of the City to Shore Ride which took place in Southern New Jersey. Feldman Shepherd formed a diverse team to ride 150 miles in the City to Shore 2010 race beginning in Cherry Hill, N.J. and ending in Ocean City, N.J. All proceeds raised support research for a cure of MS and provide programs which address the needs of people living with the neurological disease.
Feldman Shepherd and its trial attorneys are committed to providing legal support to the community. Both lawyers and staff members give to philanthropic endeavors. Feldman Shepherd donates $1,000 per year per attorney to legal services such as Philadelphia VIP, Community Legal Services of Philadelphia, Senior Law Center, Support Center for Child Advocates and others. The staff raises money and gift donations each year for families much less fortunate. Feldman Shepherd also contributes one percent of all cerebral palsy case settlements and verdicts to a fund that sends families of children with cerebral palsy to Disney World. The firm has sent six families to Disney to date and anticipates sending many more.
